Adam P.'s review forDialpad

When we started our business…

When we started our business, we needed a solution that would provide access anywhere and from any device. Dialpad was the right solution for our business. The features we appreciate most, are: – Works across multiple devices – Seamless device hand-off – Easy web-based administration – Flex-up/flex-down for licensing – Ability to create and manage groups or offices – ALL of the continued feature roll-outs Also, we have conference room phones that are connected to our account. It was really simple to setup, and has provided value to have phones in our rooms. We needed a solution that would allow us to easily provision users in any geography, and be able to integrate with things like GSuite and Salesforce. It has delivered value for us by making Salesforce easier to manage with automated call logging/tracking. In terms of benefits, we’ve seen a very high level of “availability” of our people for our prospects and customers. In the world of consulting and sales, accessibility means everything.

Dialpad punches over and above its…

Dialpad punches over and above its weight class. We’ve been using Dialpad in our law firm for over five years and it has been an absolute pleasure. We love the speech to text features, voicemail transcriptions, and anywhere anytime access to the system. We don’t love the technical support which is e-mail and chat based. Anachronistically, we think that a phone company should offer phone support. I am advised that phone support is available on higher level plans, but not offering it on setups is a challenge for new users. This is an easy fix for the company, and they should consider offering full support on all new orders. The good news is that we’ve rarely had to call for support. While they support both Polycom and Obihai phones, I’ve found it a bit limiting in terms of support options. The reality here is that most of the functionality on the desktop terminal is more than replicated on the App, which is our preferred way to use the system. For our practice, where time is money, being able to track calls, e-mails and responses to client inquiries definitely translates to increased revenue. We typically bill back the cost of the system on the first day of each month.

Pros: Super Easy to use.

Dialpad has been a great solution for…

Dialpad has been a great solution for our office. Many of our employees work either remotely or have many out-of-the-office appointments. Dialpad has allowed us to communicate more easily and efficiently with each other and with our customers. I love the fact that you have an easily searchable and accessible list of calls — no more scribbling names and numbers down on scraps of paper! The voicemail archive is also very handy and easily shareable with my colleagues. One of the greatest benefits is the messaging function. Our office uses this constantly to communicate with each other and it has also been helpful to use with clients who prefer texting to emailing. Before, I was receiving texts on my personal cell, which was inconvenient and sometimes confusing. All in all, Dialpad is robust with useful features and absolutely will help you communicate better!

Provider Overview

As one of the leading pure-cloud communications solutions for business, Dialapad offers HD voice, video group messaging, SMS, MMS, conferencing and even screen sharing in their packed Unified Communications platform. While the company is now focused on offering cloud-based VoIP and UC solutions, Dialpad has an interesting past including name changes, and rebrands. However, despite a past complicated enough to warrant a timeline on their website, Dialpad now stands as a leading pure-cloud communications provider for business, with both SMB and Enterprise solutions available. In fact, Dialpad’s creator, Craig Walker, is known as the creator of Google Voice and Yahoo! Voice.

Originally founded in 1999 by Walker, Dialpad started  as an early pioneer in the VoIP industry – which was acquired by Yahoo! In 2000. Walker began again with Firespotter Labs, which had launched a product accelerator to build web and mobile apps to otherwise outdated industries. After a series of successful app launches, including Jotly – an app that allowed you to rate anything, and which made the front page of The Wall Street Journal – the company launched UberConference . As their first step into Unified Communications, the app was a huge success. Following this success, on what is now known as the Dialpad app began in 2014, and the company changed its name to Switch.

After a January 2015 launch, Dialpad has come out of beta, and the company was able to raise $35 million in Series C funding . Most recently, Dialpad has reacquired Walker’s original company name, and has even opened a Japanese office in April of 2016.

Editor’s Bottom Line of Dialpad

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better pedigree than founders Craig Walker, John Rector, and Brian Peterson. Dialpad offers a price point that is one of the lowest you can find, especially for unlimited calling. They don’t cut corners by being stingy with features or nickel-and-diming you with hidden charges – they just offer a great product at a low price. As a pure-cloud provider, Dialpad offers completely hosted solutions tailored to both the SMB and Enterprise market. With more than just simple, and unlimited, VoIP calling Dialpad offers an entire hosted UC stack. If your company is looking to adopt a cloud only solution, Dialpad is very high on the list of options to consider.

Beyond simple VoIP calling, Dialpad also offers an entire Unified Communications stack of products, so your team can stay in touch with a variety of channels. Dialpad also provides HD video calls and conferencing,  which can of course integrate with the business apps you user everyday. Dialpad also includes instant messaging, direct SMS, MMS, and group messaging integrated directly into the Dialpad solution for a truly multichannel Unified Communications offering. Businesses can utilize these channels for in office messaging, or even offer new methods  of communications to clients or customers. Dialpad’s mobile app also allows users to stay connected all at once, and receive a single message on up to 5 devices at the same time.

Dialpad also boasts a very strong integration base to build off of. Of course, with the nature of APIs a seasoned developer could build almost any integration for any platform. However, with Dialpad, you are adopting a solution that already has prebuilt integrations for some of the most popular solutions. Whether your business utilizes Google Apps for work, or is invested in the Microsoft Office ecosystem, Dialpad has you covered. The UC solution comes with both Google Apps and Microsoft Office integrations baked right in, so you don’t have to sacrifice a developer’s time just to build the bridges. On top of office apps, Dialpad also supports a unique integration with Salesforce, to bridge the gap between CRM and UC for a true omni-channel support experience.

On top of everything else included in Dialpad’s solution, users also gain access to the incredibly popular and renowned UberConference. As a dedicated conferencing solution, Uberconference allows users to host group phone or video calls without the need for a PIN. Uberconference attempts to make conference calls as simple as possible, and has even won multiple awards including the 2014 Telecommunications Company of the Year – Silver, the 2014 Best Everyday Utility User Experience Award, and the TechCrunch Disrupt Annual Winner 3 times in a row –  just to name a few.
