I purchased this system for my primary and secondary residence. From start to finish it was a pretty seamless setup. I placed two orders one for each home, ported both numbers, and everything worked as it should. Reading the other reviews, I was worried about dropped calls or getting half of my calls, but in working with Voiply I now know there are some technical things you need to do to ensure reliability. Support and their knowledge base helped me through both home setups. I’m techy myself and the technology Voiply is working with is cutting edge. It’s like buying anything new, there are things you need to do to make it work.

Can call but not receive calls! Not a sign of a reliable service. The customer support gets back to you, but that has not solved the issue. The reviews show the company is going down hill fast. I had no issues in June during the 30 day trial, now I use them to hold onto my number for all it’s worth.

It’s about half the price and you only get half your calls. From the beginning when I call home and still now I get a Voiply msg when I call home. Then I call someone’s cell phone and they tell me the voiply internet phone did not ring. I can call 2 or 3 times at that time and it will not ring. I have not heard of outgoing calls not working. Connection time is slow. After connection there is 2 or 3 seconds before you can hear each other. I had 1-voip for 2 years before this and after they got it working at first, I never had any problems. I only changed as their price was going up some. If you need your phone to work skip voiply. I still have it for now, but might have to leave. I have talked to support about this a number of times but the problem just comes back and my internet speed is 300mb. Have for 4 months

Great, reliable service for a good price. Would recommend to anyone who wants to set up a system full of features and then never to think about it again. We upgraded our system and ended up paying less without any technical issues. The installation was fast and thier staff was a pleasure to work with.

I was a customer for about 1.5 months and recently cancelled. While I was on the phone with people, I would receive fast busy tones which means I got disconnected. This would happen every one out of 3 phone calls. I wasn’t sure if the issue was on my end or the other person’s end. However, I finally figured out it was VoiPly that was the issue. Also when I was talking on the phone, I could hear somebody else speaking. This is a very big security issue. I do NOT recommend this service. They only offer 30 day money back guarantee. Timing is suspicious since I started having issues about 45-50 days into service.

1. The negative – Several months into VoiPLy and still experiencing calls dropping after a few minutes. 2. The positive – The tech support has been excellent and responsive! Folks really trying to help. They keep a continuous log of chat history, and have tied emails to the chat. So whether you contact by email or chat, it’s all one thread! Today, the support team made an additional change, and as I write, I’ve had an open phone call lasting thirty minutes. PROBLEM MAY BE FIXED, but until I can confirm it, I can’t recommend the service yet, but if problem resolved, I will recommend. 3. As for features, I would ask that you allow at least one additional email address to receive voice mails. The reason we have this service is so our home has one common communication link for the family. With messages going to only email, it minimizes the value.

I’ve been using Voiply for over a year now. Everything about it has been easy… I reached out to chat support and they answered all of my setup questions quickly. It’s a shame I didn’t make the move sooner would have saved a lot of money on my AT&T bill. I’ve already recommended Voiply to several friends who signed up.

We signed up with Voiply 1 year ago…

We signed up with Voiply 1 year ago when we started looking into VOIP phone systems instead of POTS for our home. The pricing and order simplicity is what drove us towards Voiply, but they included long distance and that is really what sealed the deal for my family to go with Voiply. Within 2 months the money we saved with old POTS line paid for Voiply all year! One neat feature is that your order page is where you make any and all changes to your system. We really like that about Voiply, there is no confusing interface and even if you are not tech savy, Voiply makes it easy. We are still using this service today and it has been a very economical choice for my family.

I have been using the service for 2 years. At one time the customer service was amazing but has since gone to non existent. They have outsourced customer service to the phillipines and good luck with them understanding what you are saying or resolving your issue. I am now looking for a new provider for my service.

We converted from Vonage about a month…

We converted from Vonage about a month ago. Performance is slower, call take 1-3 seconds longer to connect, whether you are calling, or receiving. Feature list is weak, some items are not features, e.g. “plug and play”. There are other features, they are for the Business sector of the business. Know that there is not much margin in residential service, so set expectations appropriately. In this case, what you get in price (great) you lose in features (so-so). Wish there was an option where the customer could build a set of features (lets say 10) from a list of 25 true features. That would let the customer really tailor the service to their needs.

I don’t write reviews often, but I must touch on this. I did my research about VOIP and decided to give Voiply a try to replace my dated home POTS line. Once I got my device, I plugged into my Verizon Actiontec GT784WN (which I found out later that its not a recommended router) the device wouldn’t work per their 3 lights on for it to be working, I was only getting 2 lights. I reached out to support on a Saturday. I let them know the issue I was experiencing, and we started with trying to disable SIP ALG (I’m not very techy, but their guides helped me) gave them my router model, and they realized you cannot disable SIP ALG on my router. They recommended I get a new supported router, which I did, and my service now works. In my research I didn’t realize how important your router is to make this technology work. I must give kudos to Mari since she helped me over the weekend and is the reason, I wrote this review. Thank you

Despite its quirks and bugs which are there because it’s a young company delivering a cutting edge product, all issues are eventually resolved by stellar support. In my case, I had done a factory reset of my Grandstream WP820 Wi-Fi phone while being in Paris, France and for some reason, the Voiply settings could not be pulled from their server. However, Voiply’s 24-hour tech support was able to log into my phone and configure it remotely by hand. I feel at times a bit like a guinea pig but it’s so worth it because my issues help improve the service overall. What I like: (1) No login to a user interface – just using a secret link with built-in 2-step verification using my mobile phone. (2) The friendly and competent tech support is mostly the same guy, recognizable through a cute portrait avatar, accessible by a click of a button and providing an immediate email transcript. (3) The price is right and affordable, too. I can’t imagine any other company doing it better. Just 3 stars for installation because it was easy for me as a geek but the average Joe may have issues. Features just 4 stars because they are still working on getting voicemail directly through the phone (by email currently only). Reliability 4 stars because I had above-mentioned issues.

I switched to this company due to the cost of the service and the savings it was providing. First and foremost, let me say you get what you pay for. Your account is NOT secure with this company. I was given access to someone else’s account without any verification whatsoever. I figured this out before they did, and let them know many changes were made to this other account. The supervisor did not seem to think it was a big deal that the agent, a team leader at that, bypassed a couple steps in protocol to give me this access. Not only is the customer service bad, but the phone service is not stable. There is a 2 second delay when answering all calls before the caller can hear you, which means you’re constantly saying “hello” twice. You are also lucky if you can make it more than 4 minutes into a phone call without being disconnected due to the call dropping. This has happened consistently throughout the time needed to port my number back to my previous carrier. The phone options are limited as well. The deluxe phone is not worth the extra money. They also have a new portal that took away the option to change your hold music, so you must use their very loud and extremely unprofessional music, if you can even call it that. The very worst I have ever heard in my 20+ years of phone work. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for VOIP phone service. It will be worth a little extra money to have secure and reliable service.

The Support Team is patient and understanding, they provide great materials to get you through the process. Chat sessions are sent to you via email for reference back. We are not looking back, no regrets!

Apparently I broke their terms by using “excessive” minutes, which according to support is 60 minutes per day. This is despite the fact that they advertise unlimited minutes. They disconnected my service but continued to charge my card. No resolve after multiple calls to support. Terrible company! Go with someone else who is honest! It also took me over a week to get my adapter even though they advertise 2 day shipping.

Editor’s Bottom Line of VoIPly

With headquarters based in Pittsburgh, PA, VoIPLy is dedicated to the mission of providing reliable, simple, and cost effective Unified Communications. With a major focus on the SMB market, VoIPLy offers a very competitive Business plan that rivals some of the largest providers. With such a low entry cost, no contracts or setup fees, and 60 included features, VoIPLy already has a recipe for a compelling offering. However, add in a 30 day money back guarantee, and on top of it free IP phones for your new service, and VoIPLy brings to the table one of the best solutions for any business migrating over to a Hosted PBX.

While the free phones are basic, VoIPLy helps remove some of the initial barrier to entry VoIP, and even allows users to upgrade to more advanced phones. But if phones aren’t all you need, then VoIPLy should have you covered with a massive feature set — including Auto Attendants, Toll Free Numbers, International Dialing, Call Recording, Online Meeting and even Video Conferencing for no extra cost. VoIPLy themselves explain how the provider aims to stay at the forefront of technology and innovation, and that is evident in the inclusion of not only Online Meetings but even a Developer API to build your own unique integrations.

In fact, the inclusion of access to a Developer API helps set VoIPLy apart from other similar providers, aiming towards the SMB side of the market. While a cost effective VoIP solution isn’t very difficult to come by, one that includes as much as VoIPLy does (including IP phones and a Developer API) is fairly unique. For the teams that still need it, Virtual Faxing is included with VoIPLy service as well — which can be a major factor for certain SMBs, depending on the industry.

Support should have you covered as well. VoIPLy offers both 24/7 email and live chat, along with phone support for 8am to 8pm EST. While a relatively new company into the Hosted PBX and VoIP industry, VoIPLy still manages to offer one of the most compelling Business plans for the cost conscious SMB. While not their main audience, VoIPLy does have a strong enough solution for even larger sized teams that need a simple and easy VoIP solution, especially when migrating from a legacy system.
