An e-mail notification for voicemail is a wonderful feature when I’m not in the office. I am always in the know when I have a voice mail on the go through the e-mail on my cell phone. Sound quality is always crispy clear! 10! That is a rating that you deserve for providing an excellent phone service… a 10 out of 10!

MegaPath services are better, by far, than those of our previous providers, and a great fit for our business needs in terms of quality and reliability. The MegaPath people we work with have been great. They are responsive, friendly, and helpful. Marvin Powell III (via Customer Case Study, June 30, 2016, originally published on megapath-reviews.com)

Be very careful when signing up. There are hidden costs, which were substantial in my case. Before you give them your credit card, make sure you know exactly how much they are charging upfront, and each month. It will change from what you actually see the “quote.” Also, expect to start paying before you actually use the service.

Provider Overview

MegaPath was founded in 1996, but it didn’t launch its Unified Communications service until 2014. In the years between, it built up its infrastructure as it acquired Phoenix Networks, Epoch Networks, TManage, and IP5280. In 2015, it sold off many of its other business interests to focus exclusively on hosted UC and managed security.

MegaPath offers one of the best values in no-contract hosted VoIP by offering free phone rentals, company-wide minute sharing plans, metered local plans, and other ways to tailor the plan as small or as large as an organization needs. They also frequently have promotions and temporary price reductions to bring in new customers.

Most Popular Plan:

  • Business Voice: $19.95/user/mo
    • Phone Rental (selected model) Included
    • Unlimited Nationwide Calling
    • Visual Voicemail
    • Voicemail to Email
    • Voicemail-to-Text Transcription
    • Call Management Web Portal
    • Call Log Details
    • Inbound Caller ID
    • Centralized Admin Console
    • BYOD Apps (iPhone & Android)
    • Personal Conferencing Bridge
    • Enterprise Directory Integration
  • Available Premium Features:
    • Automated Call Recording
    • Video Calling
    • Integration with SalesForce

Best For:
Schools, hospitality, retail. MegaPath is a great choice for companies with multiple locations or multiple branches. MegaPath is a great choice for the largest businesses, and small organizations that have to keep costs very low. But for many SMBs in the mushy middle, it doesn’t stand out against the competition.

Bottom Line:
MegaPath has spent a number of years behind the scenes, offering managed security, broadband Ethernet, and other cloud-based services. It is only recently that they have decided to focus on their hosted VoIP offerings. Although they have a carrier-grade network, they’ve yet to reach enough market penetration to achieve “critical mass.”

As a result, they have to set themselves apart the old fashioned way: Lower the price. MegaPath offers shared metered pricing, meaning the whole business can use a bucket of minutes each month. In addition, they offer included phone rentals on no-contract plans. MegaPath offers a White Glove installation service, where they can guide you through the installation over the phone, or even have a certified technician install it for you on-site.

Support Options:

  • 24/7/365
  • Call 877-523-5175, or use the click-to-call on their website.
  • Professional on-site installation
  • Custom training webinar
  • US-based service activation

Guarantee:
30-day satisfaction guarantee
