SAP began in 1972 in Germany when five former IBM employees started a company to integrate technology and business. The Company saw steady success and in 1988, SAP went public. In 2001, SAP began to explore cloud based communication and its arsenal of products grew. In 2011, the first in-memory product, the SAP HANA platform, was released. The SAP HANA enabled companies to analyze data in seconds rather than the days or even weeks it would normally take. Demand for the SAP HANA was rampant. In 2015, an updated version of the SAP HANA was launched as well as a cloud edition, which gives customers the opportunity to combine on-premise and cloud solutions — for unprecedented IT flexibility and accelerated business innovation. SAP offers a plethora of products, everything from ERP, CRM, and Analytics to Payroll, Finance and Digital Supply Chains, and much more. With over 46 years of experience, SAP has become one of the most well known and prolific technological innovators.
