As the headline suggests, RingCentral has indeed made their Office service available via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. The new distribution was announced by Ingram at the company’s fourth annual Cloud Summit.
Now, upon reading this news you may be asking yourself, what is RingCentral Office, and what is the Ingram Marketplace? If so, you needn’t worry. Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace is a “transactional, online marketplace where solution providers and MSPs can shop, procure, provision and obtain invoices for their cloud services directly from Ingram Micro.” Separate from this, RingCentral Office is “ a complete cloud business phone solution that designed for today’s mobile and dispersed workforces. It provides a mobility centric alternative to complex, inflexible on-premise legacy phone systems.” Basically, Office is designed to keep employees connected to customers regardless of business and/or personal devices—i.e. smartphones, tablets, computers, and desk phones.
In joining together for distribution, both parties seem to think they can help one another. Ryan Azus, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales at RingCentral, stated, “As businesses look to connect their increasingly mobile and dispersed workforces, Ingram Micro’s sizeable network of channel partners will help more companies experience the benefits of a fully integrates cloud phone system.” That being said, RingCentral it seems that RingCentral hopes to reach a wider audience via the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace. Ingram seemingly understands the potential of cloud services within their marketplace.
