DO NOT SIGN UP. IT IS A SCAM!!! After 1 hour of signing up, we figured this is not the right service for us. We emailed them to cancel our account. I never heard back from them. Then they charged us for another month. We tried to contact them on the phone. There is NO WAY to get hold of anyone and they never called us back. We contacted the support again by email. They insisted that we MUST call them for verification which is ridiculous. So we called and called and nothing. Then after 2 days, they closed our ticket.

So far, all is going well with phone.com. The call quality is good. The online management of the phone number and extensions is easy to use and questions about how to use certain features have generally been answered quickly and completely by online chat support or by customer support over the phone. The one area that is lacking is the phone porting process. I understand that there is an automatic system in place for porting an existing number from an old provider but phone.com should instruct the customer in advance (especially for business owners) that there might be a lag in time between when the phone number is disconnected from the old provider and connected back up at phone.com's end. You will want to let your old provider know to put a recording on the phone number (BEFORE THE DISCONNECT ORDER IS COMPLETED) to instruct callers to forward callers to or have callers call the temporary phone.com number in order to reach your business. If you don't instruct the old carrier to do that, you will lose calls and voicemails.

Pros: Great call quality.
Cons: Be aware of porting process.

After switching from Ring Central (poor service and quality), then having a huge bill from virtualpbx, I believe we can grow our business with Phone.com! Really appreciate how good their service is and attention to detail...especially for someone like me who doesn't want to learn the details!

My son has been using Phone.com for quite sometime now, and he has been telling to get it so I finally did about a month ago. Our family is so spread out through out the states and it was getting expensive to talk to them due to all of the long distance. We immediately noticed the savings and just jumped at their 1 year plan which offered more savings.I was able to keep my old number. I will say that I was having a little trouble figuring out how to plug the thing in but I called them and they had someone talk me through it. It was nice to actually talk to someone and IN English rather than an automated machine... or someone from India. This turned out to be a smart move for us - Saving Money, cool features, and free call waiting.
