Vonage Business Solutions - Moved our service to Vonage...

Moved our service to Vonage Business from OnSIP, and found that they truly are a great investment and a reliable phone replacement service. I can easily tell the difference between my old service, and my new service. They transferred our existing phone number which took about 7 days. I thought it might be be sooner. There was no downtime during the transfer. I strongly recommend them.

Pros:Excellent sound, good value, good Android app as well
Cons:Took about 7 days to transfer my existing number

We switched to Jive after trying another VOIP carrier and were honestly about to give up on the whole VOIP thing. They have been wonderful to work with. Customer service is outstanding! We've been with them over 2 years now - no problems.

Pros:great phone service and wonderful customer service

Vonage Business Solutions - Able to reach support...

I have been using Vonage Business (previously Vocalocity) for my own business and my customers for about 5 years now and had minimal problems. When I have had problems they are fast to reply and fast to resolve problems. Also higher level people are accessible when needed. Keep it up!

Pros:Able to reach support 24/7 and fast to respond and resolve prolems. Biggest Pro is very few problems, they have figured it out
Cons:Because they work so well kind of boring, but in this case 'boring' is good.

RingCentral - I'm the "phone guy" at a...

I'm the "phone guy" at a 50+ agent Real Estate Office. We have been using RingCentral for about 5 years. At first RingCentral was a bit rough around the edges. But service & features have improved substantially. So here we are now:

When the system needs a bit of adjustment, tech support is always prompt and professional. Wait time is close to non-existent.

System issues are rare, certainly less common than with our previous PBX/telecom system. Most of the time, our tech issues are the result of user desired changes & reconfiguration. Whatever the cause, RingCentral has been persistent in addressing the issues that arise until they are resolved. Would that all tech companies take the same approach. Are you listening MS?

Android, Apple and Windows devices are supported. Some of the agents in our office (like me) have decided to ditch the desk phone. Others rarely touch their desk phones. Our cell phones are our desk phones. The Softphone software on my laptop is my fax and phone call monitor. There have been no fax issues that I recall, it just works. And everything works just fine on WiFi. We are the fashionably unwired.

RingCentral is on a continual quest to improve services and features. Nothing is perfect, but RingCentral seems to be aiming for it. And based my conversations with others, RingCentral is ahead of the pack.

Pros:Excellent customer service, Very good QOS
Cons:A few trivial quibbles not worth mentioning, mainly with the portal interface.

8x8 Inc. - As the facility manager...

As the facility manager for a mid-sized corporation, I've been dealing with 8x8 for many years. The experience has been excellent. Their tech support has been very helpful in helping to resolve the rare problems. If not for 8x8's scalability our rapid growth might have been a problem (we've grown from 5-phones to 47-phones in three years), 8x8 has been with us all along and helped us to keep up with the changes!

Pros:Easy to work with. Great sales and technical support.

Ooma - To properly review Ooma...

To properly review Ooma, you have to consider the two levels of service. I got a one year subscription to Premier to get the free wireless dongle. The wireless hardware is perfect. I can plug my phone in anywhere, and get crystal clear audio in my calls. It frees the phone from being stuck next to the router, and they may be the only residential provider that lets you do that.

The actual premier service has a number of features that I could take or leave, like caller ID with name, and the instant second line. I don't need a second line, and Ooma lets you add numbers to your contact list. What I was most curious about was the black list and the ability to subscribe to do-not-call lists. It turned out that I get no more or fewer unwanted calls. So, I expected to have a year of blessed silence, and I ended up paying much more attention to unwanted calls than if I had simply ignored them and forgotten about it.

As a basic service, Ooma simply cannot be outdone. I pay only taxes, which is less than $4 per month. Compared to paying $30 for cable company VoIP, or even more for traditional service, I'm saving money every day. As a long-term investment, the longer I own it, the happier I am.

Finally, as a note to anyone who thinks that VoIP may be unreliable, I ask you--do you use a 1980's phone with a long curly cable? If you're anything like me, you use a wireless phone. If the power goes out, you wouldn't be able to use your phone anyway. Ooma also has failover, so if your internet is out, the call just rings your cell phone. It's more reliable than other phone options.

Pros:Unbeatable value over the long term
Cons:Premier service did not block any telemarketers
