Verizon Teams Up with Zipit Wireless to Advance Collaborative Health Care

ZipitToday, Zipit Wireless launched a new smartphone app for mobile phones and tablets, enabling VoIP capabilities with it's Unified Communications and Collaborations solution, Zipit Enterprise Critical Messaging. The release is available exclusively through Verizon and features many options specialized in advancing the critical decision making and collaboration that is crucial to patient care.

Available on the iOS and Android, the app delivers universal access to secure, real-time tools to greatly accelerate the critical care needed by patients. The launch of the Zipit Enterprise Critical Messaging Solution on mobile platforms, allows access to this information within seconds. More than 100 health care settings nationwide have already fully employed the system, which is compliant with federal HIPAA and HITECH privacy standards.

The Zipit mobile application allows medical professionals to call, text, message, and page a user though SMS/text via a dedicated Ztext number, with Call2Page capabilities. Another key in this advancement is the clear and concise way individual responsibilities and actions of staff will be tracked more efficiently. Ty Knox, Chief Information Officer at St. Francis Healthcare stated, “"I'm sold on this solution. The information provided to us through the Zipit Remote Administration Portal is unparalleled. Additionally, the app contains VoIP functionality enabled over Wi-Fi, connecting health care workers and strengthening infrastructure through the efficient sharing of information, via an internally managed network. The Zipit VoIP feature is compatible with select Enterprise PBX systems and Cloud-Based PBX systems with SIP capability.
